Vehicles and Applicant Eligibility
Any risk requiring BI/PD limits above 15/30/5 limits
Trucks over 10,000 GVW
Fleets of Private Passenger Autos or Motorcycles (5 or more)
Public Autos
Special Types
All of the following Public and Special types of Vehicles are Eligible for the Plan:
- Taxis
- Van Pools
- Day Care
- Social Service
- School Buses
- Church Buses
- Tour Buses
- Shuttle Buses
- Airport Buses
- Limousines
- Farm Labor Contractors
- Ambulances
- Driver Training Programs
- Fire Department
- Law Enforcement Agencies
- Special or Farm Equipment
The following (which fall under the Private Passenger Eligibility):
- Private Passenger nonfleet (unless 5 or more)
- Miscellaneous type vehicles registered for highway use as follows:
Motorhomes, antique autos, snowmobiles, golf carts, dune buggies, all terrain vehicles, and campers
- Motorcycles, motor scooters, motorbikes, trail bikes and mopeds
- Named Non-owned applicants
- Applicant does not hold or is not eligible to obtain an operator's license
(Except if the applicant's driving privileges have been suspended or revoked and can be restored upon the filing of a financial responsibility form (SR-22) with the state.)
- If the applicant owes money to any insurer on a policy issued under assignment by the Plan during the immediately preceding 36 months, which is currently not under an appeal with the plan.
- If the applicant is one of two or more entities, who own a majority interest, none of those entities shall be eligible for insurance under the plan if any of the entities has money owed to an insurance company.
- If the applicant is a risk purchasing group that obtains liability insurance on a group basis.
If the risk is a multi-state operation, the state in which the "operating headquarters" is located will determine which plan it needs to apply to.
